The Group D clash of the 2026 Women's AFCON has swung! At halftime at the Moulay Rachid Stadium, Cameroon leads Ghana 1-0 thanks to a penalty from Marie Gisèle Manga in the 19th minute. The Lionesses are on course to take the top spot in the group.

A decisive penalty

After a Cameroonian foray into the box, the referee pointed to the spot. Marie Gisèle Manga stepped up and coolly slotted it home. 1-0 in the 19th minute. Since then, the Lionesses have managed the game, pushing to double their lead against a solid but less incisive Ghanaian side.

A classic rivalry under tension

This is the 10th meeting in Women's AFCON between the two nations. Both teams remain unbeaten. Cameroon edged Mali 2-1, while Ghana is coming off a 2-0 win over Cape Verde. With this lead, Cameroon turns up the heat on Ghana and puts itself in pole position for the top spot in the group.

45 minutes to finish the job

Ghana will push hard in the second half to come back. Cameroon must maintain their solidity and remain dangerous on the counter. Gisèle's goal has made the difference. Forty-five minutes remain to secure qualification.
