Young Nigerian talent set to sign in Sweden

AIK Stockholm is closing in on Shedrack Egboh. According to Footy-Africa, the Swedish club has reached an agreement with the young Nigerian winger for a long-term contract. After several days on trial, the 18-year-old has convinced the coaching staff, who are now eager to complete his signing.

Shedrack Egboh, a successful trial

While personal terms have already been agreed, discussions are ongoing between AIK and the Inspire Football Academy, where Egboh currently plays. The academy’s director, Francis Ogete, confirmed that both clubs are still negotiating the transfer fee.

The contract terms with the player are already settled. All that remains is to agree on the transfer compensation.

The Nigerian management believes AIK’s initial offer undervalues the player, but remains confident of a positive outcome. Regarded as one of Nigeria’s top young wingers, Egboh now hopes to take the next step in his career by joining the Swedish league.

Our analysis

AIK is on the verge of pulling off a smart move in the young talent market. The toughest part now seems behind the Swedish club, who have already won over the player. If the two clubs quickly reach a financial agreement, Shedrack Egboh could soon become AIK’s latest attacking gem.
