2026 World Cup: Luis Suarez considers a return with Uruguay

Luis Suarez could be set for a sensational return to the Uruguay national team at the 2026 World Cup.

Despite having announced his international retirement in September 2024, Luis Suarez hasn’t ruled out the possibility of a comeback with La Celeste. His motivation? To compete at the 2026 World Cup.

"Obviously, the national team is always what you dream of. You start thinking about it right away, it lingers in your mind, and with the World Cup approaching, if they need you... what do you do? I will never say no to my country. Say no? It's impossible, as long as I'm still playing, as long as I'm active," the former Barcelona star told El Pais.
