2026 World Cup: Ticket prices soar
With just a few weeks to go before the 2026 World Cup, ticket prices have now reached astronomical levels.
While tickets were already considered out of reach during the initial sales phases, 2026 World Cup tickets have now soared to exorbitant prices. Following the opening of the so-called "last-minute" ticket sales, based on a "first come, first served" system and available until the end of the tournament, fans have witnessed a dramatic surge in prices.
This surge is especially pronounced for the tournament final. According to the Daily Mail, prices have increased by more than 30% on average since the first sales phase. Fans will now need to shell out €5,000 for a Category 3 ticket, €6,400 for Category 2, and over €9,500 for Category 1.
To put that in perspective, back in 2022 in Qatar, the most expensive ticket for the Argentina-France final (3-3, 4-2 on penalties) cost €1,400.
