Having arrived in Yaoundé on Sunday evening, Comoros are preparing for the clash against Cameroon on 24 September in Garoua in the opening round of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Controversial decisions

With 14 of the 24 called-up players present, Hubert Velud is hoping to have his full squad available for Monday's training session. The FFCF had announced four injury-related withdrawals, including Rafiki Saïd, Myziane Maolida, Ismaël Boura and Ramaine Daou. This was compounded by the decision to leave out emblematic captain Youssouf M'Changama and Faïz Selemani.

A deliberate policy

Head coach Hubert Velud justified his bold decisions in an interview with Nordine L'Instant N

I was asked to put a new generation in place. It was intentional; it was the federation's policy. I either accepted it or I didn't. I accepted the challenge.
