Played on January 16, 1994, at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg, this second edition of the African Super Cup featured Zamalek SC, winners of the 1993 African Cup of Champions Clubs, and Al Ahly SC, winners of the 1993 African Cup Winners' Cup.
1996: Orlando Pirates vs JS Kabylie 1-0
Two years later, the competition returned to South Africa, once again at FNB Stadium. This time, Orlando Pirates, champions of the 1995 African Cup of Champions Clubs, took on JS Kabylie, winners of the 1995 African Cup Winners' Cup.
Bruce Ramokadi scored the only goal for the South Africans in the 54th minute of a tightly contested match played in front of 20,000 fans.
2017: Mamelodi Sundowns vs TP Mazembe 1-0
The third final held in South Africa was contested by Mamelodi Sundowns and TP Mazembe at Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium. The Champions League winners edged out the Confederation Cup holders (1-0), thanks to a goal from Nascimento in the 83rd minute.
