Preparation for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers has officially begun for the Stallions. The camp began on Sunday, and the first Burkina Faso internationals to arrive held their first training session on Monday afternoon at the 4 August Stadium.

Around ten players took part in this first session under national team coach Amir Abdou and his staff. The rest of the squad is expected on Tuesday as preparations step up.

A busy FIFA window

This first session marks the beginning of an important week. Burkina Faso must make a strong start to the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and build a team with the new faces who have joined the squad.

The Stallions will host Benin on Friday, September 25, at 19:00 GMT at the 4 August Stadium for the opening matchday of Group F, before travelling to Casablanca to face the Central African Republic on September 28. A prestigious friendly in Argentina is scheduled for October 3 to bring the international break to a close.
