In the mixed zone, Baghdad Bounedjah delivered a composed and responsible message on the eve of the Greens’ AFCON debut. Fully aware of the pitfalls that come with an opening match, the striker emphasized the team’s collective preparation and the tactical discipline demanded by the coaching staff.

"The first match is always tough. We know how Sudan attack and defend... We’ll need to press, defend as a unit, as one block."

The Algerian stalwart also highlighted the importance of team spirit and the leadership role of the senior players.

"As a team, we work as a single group... We, the experienced players, try to help the squad with our experience and give everything, 100%."

Moved by the absence of Youcef Belaïli, Bounedjah concluded with determination:

"All my focus is on the team and the collective... God willing, we’re ready and we’ll do everything to win this match."
