Al Ahly: everything is wrapped up with this Algerian international!

Al Ahly looks to have finally crossed the finish line for Monsef Bakrar. The Algerian international is said to have signed a three-year contract, accompanied by a significant salary upgrade.

After several weeks of negotiations, Al Ahly has reportedly secured Monsef Bakrar's signature through to June 2029. According to Al Masry Al Youm, the 25-year-old was expected in Cairo overnight from Monday to Tuesday, ahead of his medical examination. That medical is now the final hurdle before the deal is officially announced. His coach at Dinamo Zagreb has already confirmed his departure, further strengthening the trend seen since the overall agreement announced between all parties.

A transfer that could reach €3.5 million

The Cairo club will pay €3 million to Dinamo, with up to €500,000 in potential bonuses. Bakrar’s contract is also set to include a progressive salary, quoted in dollars by the Egyptian source: $900,000 for the first season, $950,000 for the next, and $1.1 million for the final year. Across his contract, the Algerian could collect $2.95 million, excluding any additional bonuses.

Stats that justify the investment

This move rewards Monsef Bakrar’s impressive rise in Croatia. With 18 goals and seven assists in 42 matches across all competitions, the former ES Sétif player has been directly involved in 25 goals, averaging 0.60 decisive contributions per game. His consistency, European experience, and attacking versatility explain Al Ahly’s sizeable investment, as the Egyptian giants now look ahead to the CAF Confederation Cup.
