Transfer market: Al Ahly seals Bakrar deal, agreement reached with player and Zagreb

According to Africa Foot, Al Ahly of Egypt has finalized the signing of Monsef Bakrar. The Egyptian powerhouse has reached an agreement with the Algerian striker and his club, Dinamo Zagreb.

Coach’s intervention

The deal saw a decisive breakthrough. Al Ahly received the green light from Monsef Bakrar after weeks of negotiations. Africa Foot reports that Hussein Ammouta played a crucial role in sealing the transfer. The Moroccan coach personally called the Algerian international star, outlining the club’s project. Bakrar was convinced by the vision and agreed to adjust his financial terms.

Complete financial agreement

On the financial front, the deal was comprehensive. The striker will receive an annual signing bonus of $800,000, in addition to $300,000 in bonuses and other incentives.

As for the clubs, all details have been agreed upon. Dinamo Zagreb will let go of their striker for $3 million. Al Ahly will pay $1.5 million in August, with the remaining $1.5 million to be paid in two installments of $750,000 in 2027. An additional $500,000 in bonuses has been added, which Dinamo will receive if Bakrar scores a certain number of goals or finishes the season as the Egyptian league’s top scorer.

Expected arrival in August

On the pitch, Bakrar joins after a stellar season. In the 2025–2026 campaign with Dinamo Zagreb, he featured in 42 matches, netting 18 goals and providing 7 assists. He’ll land in Cairo after completing his European commitments, playing his first two continental matches with Dinamo in August before joining Al Ahly ahead of the Egyptian Premier League kick-off.
