Vladimir Petkovic has not called up Ismaël Bennacer for Algeria's upcoming matches. He gave his reasons.

This summer, Ismaël Bennacer returned to Milan after his stint at OM. On Thursday, Algeria head coach Vladimir Petkovic unveiled his squad for the World Cup qualifiers. Ismaël Bennacer's name was not on the list.

According to Vladimir Petkovic, the absence is due to new physical setbacks. "Bennacer is struggling physically with zero preparation; he trained with Milan B and immediately suffered more physical issues. I hope he returns to his best because Ismaël is very important for our national team." said the Fennecs' head coach.
