Andrés Iniesta targeted by investigation in Peru

Former Spanish footballer Andrés Iniesta is at the center of an investigation launched by Peruvian authorities.

According to the newspaper Líbero, his company NSN Sudamérica is suspected of defrauding local investors. Businessmen are said to have paid over €560,000 to finance sporting and cultural events that never took place.

Authorities believe Iniesta's image was used to attract these funds before the money was transferred abroad. The company then went bankrupt in June 2024, less than a year after its creation. Now 41, Iniesta retired last year. He made history with FC Barcelona and the Spanish national team, notably winning the 2010 World Cup.
