Barcelona have made an initial move to secure the future of their experienced striker Robert Lewandowski, presenting him with a new contract offer as discussions over his long-term stay continue.

Reports suggest the proposal involves a notable cut to his guaranteed salary—nearly a 50% reduction. However, the structure of the deal is heavily performance-based, with bonuses that could allow him to maintain or even exceed his current earnings depending on his contributions on the pitch. Club president Joan Laporta has already expressed his desire to keep the Polish forward as part of the team’s plans.

Despite this effort, Lewandowski’s situation is far from settled. Interest in the veteran striker remains strong beyond Spain, with Italian sides Juventus and AC Milan said to be monitoring his situation closely. In addition, clubs from Saudi Arabia are reportedly keen, while a potential move to Major League Soccer has not been ruled out, with Chicago Fire previously emerging as a possible destination.
