CAN 2025: the response of Senegal's lawyers to the players leaving the pitch

On Thursday morning, the lawyers of the Senegalese federation gathered in Paris’s 17th arrondissement. They laid out before the press the arguments behind the appeal filed with CAS against CAF’s decision.

The legal team representing the Senegalese Football Federation spent more than an hour facing the media today. The lawyers fiercely criticized both CAF and Morocco, speaking of “violated rights,” “an attack on the federation,” and “corruption involving five individuals.”

During the Q&A session, the lawyers were questioned about the substance of this forfeit defeat—namely, the Senegalese players leaving the pitch during the final. “We’ll have time in the coming days to write up our arguments. And it will be CAS who receives them first. After that, I imagine there will be leaks and you’ll find out. But for now, let us rest a little.” they replied.
