CAN 2027 preliminaries: Convincing Burundi victory over Chad

This Friday, the Burundi Swallows faced off against Chad’s Sao. It was an easy task for the Swallows, who netted four goals without conceding a single one.

At the Omnisports Maréchal Idriss Deby Itno Stadium in Mandjafa, Burundi made a strong entrance in these preliminary rounds of the CAN 2027 qualifiers. The Swallows overpowered Chad’s Sao with a 4-0 victory.

Throughout the match, Patrick Sangwa Mayani’s squad demonstrated clear superiority over their opponents. The scorers—Jordan Liongola, Bienvenue Kanakimana, Abdoul Karim, and Jean Claude Girumugisha—each added to the tally, leaving no doubt about the result.

The return leg will be played in Bujumbura and is set to be a celebration for the Swallows as they return to their Intwari Stadium.
