Laporta responds to concerns over Lamine Yamal’s departure from Barça
In comments reported by the French daily « L'Équipe », Laporta said he was convinced that the club was capable of keeping its key players, believing that good salaries are not the only factor that encourages players to stay, and that the atmosphere within the team and administrative stability also play an important role.
The president of FC Barcelona explained that the club offered an organised working environment, combining sound management with a comprehensive structure. He acknowledged that there was always room for improvement and said that the club’s management continued to work on developing its organisation and strengthening its ability to retain its stars.
Laporta’s statements come as the Barça playmaker continues to establish himself at FC Barcelona, after scoring 24 goals and providing 18 assists in 45 matches last season, according to figures available before the start of the 2026-27 season, which he began with strong statistics.
In 11 matches played with the Catalan side this season, across all competitions, the player has contributed to 19 goals, scoring 9 and providing 10 assists.
Furthermore, his market value, estimated at €220 million according to data from the global website Transfermarkt, confirms his status as one of the most promising young talents.
