The first victory of the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations Morocco goes to Algeria. The Greens kicked off their campaign in style at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium with a 2-0 win over Senegal.

After Marine Dafeur opened the scoring in the 42nd minute, the Algerian side doubled their lead late in the match. In the 88th minute, Mélissa Bethi latched onto a pass from Lina Boussaha to seal the victory. A solid and well-deserved win that puts Algeria alone at the top of Group A.

Senegal will have to bounce back in their next match against Kenya.

Up next, the headline clash: Morocco vs Kenya to continue today's action. Kick-off at 20:00 GMT at Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
