Champions League: Bernardo Silva puts Real Madrid ahead of RB Leipzig

21.10.26 FT Champions League

Real Madrid

RB Leipzig

It is half-time at the Santiago Bernabéu in this Champions League clash between Real Madrid and RB Leipzig.

After a rather calm, closely contested and evenly balanced first half, José Mourinho's side opened the scoring just before the break through a goal from Bernardo Silva. So far, the Merengue stars have not made much of an impact against a solid German defensive block.

On the right, Federico Valverde sends a low cross towards the penalty spot. Arda Güler shoots, but Willi Orban deflects his effort and Maarten Vandevoordt initially parries it away. The ball slips between his legs, and Bernardo Silva is on hand to tap it into the empty net.

⏱️ 44. Minute | 1:0 #RMARBL #UCL
