Ademola Lookman experienced a night of mixed emotions in the Copa del Rey final with Atlético Madrid.

Facing off against Real Sociedad, the Madrid side fought to a 2-2 draw before being edged out in a dramatic penalty shootout (3-2). But even in defeat, Lookman etched his name into the annals of the competition. The Super Eagle became only the second Nigerian player to score in a Copa del Rey final, following in the footsteps of Finidi George (1997).

His goal kept Atlético in contention during a fiercely contested battle at La Cartuja Stadium in Seville. However, the penalty shootout ultimately went Real Sociedad's way. While the trophy slipped from his team's grasp, Lookman still walks away with this symbolic achievement, further cementing his growing reputation on the European stage.
