On the eve of Egypt’s campaign in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations kicking off on Monday night, Pharaohs head coach Hossam Hassan has declared his ultimate goal for the tournament.

At a press conference, Egypt manager Hossam Hassan spoke about his captain and talisman, Mohamed Salah. The coach addressed Salah’s psychological state following the recent turmoil at Liverpool, underlining his desire to see the Egyptian flag flown high at this year’s Africa Cup of Nations. "I am convinced Salah will be among the best players of the tournament and will remain an icon and one of the world’s finest footballers. I support him both technically and morally, and we must not forget that Salah deserves to lift the Africa Cup of Nations trophy." Hassan stated.

Hossam Hassan didn’t miss the chance to emphasize Salah’s importance to his squad: "I have immense faith in him. I see his fighting spirit, and it feels like he’s playing for Egypt for the very first time. I’m confident he’ll have a sensational tournament alongside his teammates."

Tonight at 20:00 GMT, Egypt will play their opening match - of Nations against Zimbabwe.
