England: “I hope I can go even further”, Harry Kane
On Tuesday evening, Harry Kane scored twice in England’s 3-0 win over the Czech Republic in the Nations League.
The England international striker continues to light up the scoresheets. Having already scored twice against Croatia (0-7) a few days earlier, the Bayern Munich forward drew level with Peter Shilton at the top of the ranking of the most-capped players in the history of the Three Lions. Despite enjoying the best season of his career, the England captain believes he can still improve.
“I hope I haven’t reached my ceiling. I hope I can go even further. I feel that I can still improve; I’ve just enjoyed the best season of my career at the age of 32. (...) It’s a perfect evening for me personally and for the team. I’m extremely proud. You saw some fantastic football tonight,” said the striker, who previously played for Tottenham, in an interview with ITV Sport.
