FC Barcelona: "I hope Yamal will win the Champions League," says Neymar
A few days after FC Barcelona's elimination in the Champions League quarter-finals, Neymar had some kind words for Lamine Yamal.
Last Tuesday, Barça claimed a 2-1 away win over Atlético Madrid in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final. But that victory wasn't enough to overturn the deficit from their first-leg defeat (0-2).
In this context, all eyes turned to Lamine Yamal. Neymar, for his part, made sure to acknowledge the performance and potential of the young Spanish star, delivering a powerful statement about the 18-year-old.
"I'm convinced he's one of the greatest teenage sensations football has ever seen. There was Messi, there was me... but what this kid is doing at 18 is simply incredible. I felt really sorry for him after their Champions League elimination. He gave everything, he was even the architect of their comeback. But that's football—anything can happen. His time will come. I hope he wins the Champions League next year... and why not the Ballon d'Or as well? He's exceptional. He's one of those players I'll always support," said the former FC Barcelona star.
