FIFA: Aleksander Ceferin does not want to run against Gianni Infantino
Despite his opposition to Gianni Infantino, Aleksander Ceferin will not seek the FIFA presidency in March 2027.
Indeed, the UEFA boss, whose term will also end next year, prefers to maintain his role as a critic of the current head of world football’s governing body. "I'm not interested. I love UEFA and the work I do here. My credibility is far greater if I'm not interested in that position," he explained on the podcast The Rest is Politics.
Aleksander Ceferin does, however, expect to see a challenger step up to face Gianni Infantino if he maintains his candidacy. "I think we will have a candidate against him. I don't know who yet," added the Slovenian.
