Spain has regained the top spot in the FIFA world rankings, published this Monday, just a day after their triumph at the 2026 World Cup, hosted in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

La Roja back at the summit

World champions for the second time in their history after their victory over Argentina (1-0) in the final, La Roja dethrones the Albiceleste and retakes the lead in the world rankings.

Argentina drops to second place, while France holds on to third. England climbs to fourth, just ahead of Brazil in fifth.

Morocco soars to sixth place in the world, ahead of Portugal (7th), Belgium (8th), and the Netherlands (9th). Mexico breaks into the Top 10 taking the tenth spot.

On the continental front, Morocco maintains its status as Africa's top-ranked team thanks to its world number six position. The Atlas Lions are ahead of Senegal (18th), Egypt (24th), Nigeria (26th), Algeria (29th), and Ivory Coast (31st).
