Reigning African champions Senegal showed no nerves on their return to action. Facing Peru at the iconic Stade de France, the Lions of Teranga secured a 2-0 win, further confirming their impressive momentum.

In a match largely under their control, Pape Thiaw's men made the difference thanks to clinical finishing. Nicolas Jackson broke the deadlock before Ismaïla Sarr sealed the Senegalese victory.
