Gabon: Aubameyang nets four in thriller against Gambia
Aubameyang

Thanks to a red-hot Aubameyang, Gabon pulled off a spectacular victory over Gambia on Friday.

As part of the 9th matchday of the 2026 World Cup African qualifiers this Friday, Gabon clinched a wild win against Gambia (4-3) in Group F. Although Aubameyang was sent off late in the match (86th minute), he single-handedly carried his nation with a stunning four-goal haul (20', 42', 62', 78').

It's a crucial victory for Gabon, who remain just one point shy of group leaders Ivory Coast. The Ivorians, for their part, overwhelmed Seychelles (7-0) with goals from Sangaré (7', pen.), Agbadou (17'), Diakité (32'), Guessand (39'), Diomandé (55'), Adingra (68') and Kessié (90').
