Getafe: Dani Carvajal will not sign
While we reported yesterday that Dani Carvajal was close to joining Getafe months after leaving Real Madrid, the deal now appears to be at a standstill.
It is a dramatic turn of events for Dani Carvajal. Although the former Real Madrid right-back had an agreement with Getafe and was still waiting for La Liga's green light yesterday, the deal has ultimately fallen through. Questioned by El Chiringuito this Wednesday, Azulones president Ángel Torres announced that talks had broken down.
“At the moment, we know nothing. There is nothing. (...) Everything has broken down,” said the Spanish executive. This is clearly a radical change in circumstances, as Torres was still announcing the previous day that Carvajal had passed his medical and that his signing depended only on an agreement with La Liga regarding Getafe's salary-cap constraints.
