Union Saint Gilloise celebrated 5 - 1 victory over Royal Antwerp in the opening round of the Belgian Pro League playoffs but the night was overshadowed by serious injury to Sofiane Boufal.

Early Exit on a Stretcher

The Moroccan winger went down in just the 14 minute, clutching his hamstring after seemingly minor contact. Unable to continue, he left the field on stretcher, raising concerns about a muscle tear.

Coach’s Update & Injury Assessment

Head coach Sébastien Pocognoli confirmed it was likely hamstring issue, saying:

“If it’s a minor strain, he could return soon. But if it’s tear, it’ll be race against time”
