Ivory Coast: Ismaël Doukouré moves closer to the Elephants

Ismaël Doukouré is on the verge of joining the Elephants. The Strasbourg defender visited the Ivorian Consulate General in Paris to begin his administrative procedures.

This decisive step officially confirms his choice to wear the Ivory Coast jersey. Just a week ago, the 21-year-old agreed to represent the Ivorian national team, following a conversation between his father and coach Emerse Faé.

World Cup on the horizon

Doukouré, a versatile and powerful presence in Ligue 1, will bring fresh defensive options to the 2023 African champions. With the World Cup fast approaching, his arrival comes at the perfect time for coach Emerse Faé, who is building a highly competitive squad.
