Liverpool: Hugo Ekitike successfully undergoes surgery

Set to be sidelined for the next nine months, Hugo Ekitike has undergone successful surgery in London.

The French striker suffered a ruptured right Achilles tendon during the second leg of the Champions League quarterfinal against PSG (0-2, 0-2), abruptly ending his season. The former PSG player has now started his rehabilitation process.

The first step was to undergo surgery, and that is now complete. The former PSG forward was operated on five days ago in London by a medical team with a longstanding connection to Liverpool players. The procedure was overseen by the surgeon renowned for working with basketball star Jayson Tatum.
