Hugo Ekitike has undergone successful surgery following his serious Achilles tendon injury, but the French striker is already ruled out of the World Cup.

It’s a crushing blow for Hugo Ekitike. Injured during the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Paris Saint-Germain, the French forward saw his season come to an abrupt end after rupturing his right Achilles tendon.

Sidelined for the coming months, he will also miss the World Cup. The former Paris Saint-Germain player, however, has taken a significant step by successfully undergoing surgery in London.

Now embarking on a long rehabilitation process, Ekitike is entering a crucial period for the next stage of his career, with the clear goal of returning to his best after this major setback.
