Press reports have revealed that the talented Cameroonian player Mahamadou Nagida is attracting significant interest from European clubs, which are monitoring his performances for both Rennes and the Cameroon national team. It appears that there will be considerable activity surrounding him this winter, specifically in January.

Inter Milan and Porto are interested in the player, though neither has taken any formal steps as of yet; nevertheless, the left-back remains a target for both major clubs ahead of the January transfer window.

Rennes is keen on retaining the Cameroonian standout

Rennes have made their stance abundantly clear: they will not allow Nagida to depart on the cheap. The French outfit are intent on safeguarding their investment in the young defender, having already turned down a €5m bid from Turkish giants Besiktas last summer. That firm position is expected to hold firm as interest in the player continues to mount.

What strengthens Rennes' hand considerably is the player's contractual situation. The Cameroon international, who honed his craft at the Elite du Football des Boissons du Cameroun (EFBC), remains tied to the Ligue 1 club until June 2029. Such a long-term commitment means there is no looming pressure to cash in, especially with his stock rising with each passing performance.

Transfermarkt currently values Nagida at €10m, a figure that keeps climbing thanks to his standout displays in the French top flight.

The reported admiration from Inter Milan and Porto could intensify the race for his signature should either club formalise their interest. As things stand, however, no official bid has landed, and both sides remain in the observation phase.

Should negotiations ever begin, Rennes are expected to demand a hefty sum, particularly given the defender's lengthy contract and his blossoming reputation.

With Inter and Porto monitoring his progress closely, Nagida is shaping up to be one of the Cameroonian players generating serious buzz ahead of the next transfer window.

For now, his immediate future lies in Rennes, where his performances have placed him firmly on the radar of two European heavyweights. Whether that interest evolves into something concrete remains to be seen.
