Manchester United has identified its top target to replace Casemiro this summer. A Real Madrid star is firmly in the Red Devils’ sights.

Manchester United is actively preparing for the post-Casemiro era. The Brazilian, whose departure at the end of his contract is confirmed, will leave a massive void in United's midfield. To fill it, the Red Devils have set their sights on Aurélien Tchouaméni. According to The Telegraph, the Real Madrid defensive midfielder is Michael Carrick's absolute priority to bolster a sector that desperately needs reinforcements.

The 26-year-old French international is enjoying one of the best seasons of his career at the Santiago Bernabéu. However, according to Tribuna, a move is considered a "tempting" prospect for Tchouaméni, who is attracted by the Premier League. Everything, though, will depend on Real Madrid’s summer plans: if Rodri, the 2024 Ballon d'Or winner, were to join Los Blancos, the door could open for Tchouaméni to leave.

Under contract until 2028, the Frenchman will not come cheap. Liverpool is also among the contenders, promising a fierce battle in the transfer market. United, meanwhile, is staying busy: the extension of Kobbie Mainoo’s contract is also in the works, further proof that the club is building its future with method and ambition.
