Manchester United is set to lock down Bruno Fernandes with a contract extension featuring a significant pay rise. The Red Devils’ captain could earn €470,000 a week and become the second-highest-paid player in the Premier League.

Rightly regarded as Manchester United’s best player since his arrival, Bruno Fernandes is expected to renew his contract, according to information from the Daily Star. The United board is determined to secure the future of their midfield maestro at all costs.

The Portuguese star would receive a substantial pay increase, bringing his wages to €470,000 per week. It’s a reward fitting his immense talent, making him the Premier League’s second-highest earner, just behind the “cyborg” Erling Haaland and his €615,000 weekly salary.

Since joining the Red Devils in the winter of 2020, Bruno Fernandes has racked up 317 appearances, 105 goals, and 100 assists across all competitions.

To recap, the United captain finished as the Premier League’s top assist provider last season with 21 assists, breaking the historic record held by Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne, which stood at 20 assists.
