An explosive start and a complete footballing display. In front of their home fans at Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, the Atlas Lionesses delivered a commanding performance in their opening match of the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations.

3-0 at halftime, game decided

The goal fest began in the 19th minute when Sakina Ouzraoui opened the scoring. Maryam Atiq doubled the lead in the 28th minute, and just three minutes later, Ibtissam Jraidi made it 3-0 in the 31st. Against a Kenyan side returning to the Women's Africa Cup of Nations after a 10-year absence, the Moroccans left their opponents with no chance.

The Lionesses top Group A

With this emphatic victory in just 45 minutes, Morocco temporarily takes the top spot in Group A, overtaking Algeria, who defeated Senegal 2-0 earlier in the day. The message is clear and powerful: after reaching the finals of the last two editions, the Atlas Lionesses are determined to claim the title on home soil this time.
