In Ikenne on June 8, the Nigerian national team delivered a resounding 3-0 victory over Senegal in a friendly match as part of preparations for the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. After dominating the first leg, the Super Falcons reaffirmed their superiority, while the Senegal Lionesses endured another clear defeat.

Following a fiercely contested first half, Nigeria stepped up the tempo after the break. Joy Omewa made the difference with a quick-fire brace in the 49th and 56th minutes. Asisat Oshoala then added a third in the 66th minute, sealing the 3-0 triumph. On the turf of Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, the Super Falcons showed no mercy to their guests, clinching their second win after a 2-1 victory in the first leg.

The Nigerian team, the most decorated side in African women's football history, underlined their status in these two warm-up encounters ahead of the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. Meanwhile, Senegal will need to quickly address both attacking and defensive details before the tournament kicks off on July 25.
