Official: Enzo Tchato leaves Montpellier and heads to Italy

The end of a long story at La Paillade. Having come up through the ranks at Montpellier since his U8 days, Enzo Tchato has signed with Frosinone Calcio, the Italian club that has just earned promotion to Serie A.

Enzo Tchato has signed a four-year contract, running until June 30, 2030, with Frosinone Calcio. The Cameroonian had just one year left on his deal in Hérault. According to Ici Hérault, the transfer is valued at around €800,000—a modest sum for a player who had steadily risen through the ranks.

From youth academy to first-team regular

Arriving at the club in 2008, Tchato spent 17 years at MHSC and signed his first professional contract in 2022. Starting out in Ligue 1, he played three impressive seasons, racking up 66 appearances. With Montpellier relegated, Enzo spent last season in Ligue 2, making 29 appearances. He leaves Montpellier as a Cameroonian international with five caps to his name.

Heading to Italy for his first experience abroad

For the first time in his career, the 23-year-old defender will play in a new league. He joins a newly promoted Frosinone side determined to stay in the top flight. A new chapter begins for Tchato, who arrives with valuable experience from France and the ambition to make his mark in Serie A.
