In his first season as a player for Turkish giants Galatasaray, Nigerian Victor Osimhen managed to be the player of the season, the league's top scorer, and finally to be crowned the league's top scorer with 26 goals.

Osmin beat second-place Krzysztof Piatek by five goals, and six goals ahead of third-place Youssef En-Nesyri.

The young striker, who is on loan from Serie A champions Napoli, has proven that he can make an impact on any team he plays for in any league.

Great challenges but great success in the end!

While Victor Osimhen’s Golden Boot victory was widely expected, the official announcement came after the Turkish Super Lig season wrapped up on Sunday.

The Nigerian striker has now achieved a rare feat, becoming one of the few players to win top scorer honors in two of Europe’s top-five leagues. His previous Golden Boot came in the 2022–23 Serie A season, where his 26-goal contribution played a pivotal role in ending Napoli’s 33-year league title drought.

Osimhen entered the history books to become the first Nigerian player to win the Golden Boot in the Turkish Super League and the fourth African boy in the history of the Turkish league to receive this great honor, after Aatif Chahechouhe (2014), Senegal's Mbaye Diagne (2019), and Gabon's Aaron Boupendza (2021).

An Uncertain Future

Despite his great success in the Turkish league with Galatasaray in his first season, the young Nigerian's future is still undecided, with Manchester United, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain all interested in his services.
