OGC Nice: Elye Wahi’s first words after his return

As we reported to you several times, Elye Wahi was eager to return to OGC Nice this summer. Now, it’s official.

The Ivorian international has finally gotten his wish, as he is officially back on the Côte d’Azur as of Monday evening. With Nice, Elye Wahi scored nine goals in 19 matches during the second half of last season. The Ivorian international will play the entire 2026/2027 campaign with Les Aiglons. His paid loan from Frankfurt also includes a €15 million purchase option.

Back in Nice, Wahi spoke to the official OGC Nice website, expressing his excitement at pulling on the red and black jersey again. “We fought together to keep the club in Ligue 1. We went through tough times and we made it. Now, we need to work hard to do better and help the club bounce back. Le Gym has given me so much, brought me incredible emotions, and allowed me to relaunch my career. I want to give back. I always knew, somewhere in the back of my mind, that there was a chance to come back. I’m so happy that’s the case. Thank you to the management, the coach, and the supporters for the welcome they gave me. Now, I can’t wait to see my teammates again and get back to competing,” he declared.
