The Bamba Dieng saga is gathering momentum. With his contract at FC Lorient set to expire in just a few months, the Senegalese striker has become one of the most talked-about names ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Real Betis have moved to the front of the queue. The Andalusian club are keen to bring in an experienced forward, particularly with Cédric Bakambu expected to depart at the end of the season. Dieng’s profile fits the bill: explosive pace, composure in front of goal, and proven pedigree at a high level.

But Betis are not the only ones watching. The 27-year-old has emerged as one of the most in-form attackers in Ligue 1 this season, carrying Lorient’s attack almost single-handedly. With 14 goals across all competitions—11 of them scored in 2026 alone—he currently leads the scoring charts for the calendar year. That kind of form has turned him into a prime market opportunity, especially with the possibility of landing him on a free transfer this summer.
