Real Madrid: Xabi Alonso reacts to Kylian Mbappé’s record

Speaking to the press after Real Madrid’s victory over Sevilla, Xabi Alonso responded to Kylian Mbappé’s record-breaking feat. The Frenchman has matched Cristiano Ronaldo.

Against Sevilla (2-0) last night in La Liga, Kylian Mbappé scored his 59th and final goal of 2025 for Real Madrid. This achievement means the French striker now shares the record with Cristiano Ronaldo. In the post-match press conference, Xabi Alonso highlighted this accomplishment by the former PSG star.

"He always wants to make an impact, which is fantastic for his teammates. It’s a historic achievement; I congratulate him and wish him all the best for 2026," the Basque coach said.
