Salah successor identified: Liverpool set to Pay €60m for Morocco’s forward

Liverpool have identified Moroccan international Abde Ezzalzouli as a leading candidate to replace Mohamed Salah, with reports in Spain indicating the club are ready to trigger his €60 million release clause at Real Betis ahead of the 2026 summer window.

The move comes as Liverpool prepare for life after Salah who is expected to leave Anfield at the end of the 2025 /26 season closing a defining chapter in the club’s modern history.

Liverpool act early to avoid transfer battle

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Liverpool have moved beyond initial interest and are now prepared to meet Betis’ demands in full to secure Ezzalzouli’s signature.

The 24 year old winger has attracted attention across Europe following a strong run of performances in La Liga but Liverpool are looking to act decisively to avoid a prolonged transfer battle with rival clubs.

Betis have already rejected offers in the region of €40 million making it clear that only the release clause, set at €60 million will be accepted.

Betis stance forces Liverpool’s hand

Real Betis have taken a firm position throughout negotiations. The club have no intention of entering extended talks and have made it clear that Ezzalzouli will only leave if his release clause is activated.

That stance appears to have shaped Liverpool’s approach. Rather than risk delays or competition, the Premier League side are willing to meet the full valuation to secure the deal quickly.
