South Africa: Hugo Broos' departure confirmed

Hugo Broos has reportedly already stepped down as head coach of South Africa.

South Africa is headed for a change at the helm after their disappointment at the 2026 World Cup. Knocked out by Canada (0-1) in the round of 16, Hugo Broos has left his post. This was confirmed by a South African Football Federation official to AFP.

The Belgian tactician confirmed his departure to the Belgian magazine Humo, while revealing that the Federation wanted to retain him in another capacity, such as an advisor. For the record, Broos took charge of Bafana Bafana in 2021.
