Sunderland: Bertrand to return this week
Sunderland’s head coach provided an update on his squad ahead of Saturday’s clash against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium. Régis Le Bris confirmed that Bertrand Traoré has rejoined training after arriving injured following his Africa Cup of Nations campaign in Morocco.
Bertrand Traoré could make his long-awaited return to the pitch after more than 50 days on the sidelines. On February 26, the Sunderland boss announced that the Stallions’ captain resumed training this week and is now fit for selection. Régis Le Bris stated: "He is available for selection this week."
Sunderland travel to face Bournemouth on Saturday in Matchweek 28 of the Premier League. Bertrand Traoré hasn’t featured since January 6, when Burkina Faso lost 3-0 to Ivory Coast in the Africa Cup of Nations round of 16 in Morocco. After returning to the club, he was diagnosed with a knee injury.
