Take it or leave it: Besiktas issue Monday ultimatum to Mohamed Salah

Besiktas officials face a tense Monday deadline in Istanbul as commercial terms stall Mohamed Salah's potential free transfer.

According to Turkish broadcaster A Spor, Besiktas leadership pulled out all the stops to bring the Egyptian superstar to Istanbul as a free agent.

The club hierarchy tabled a lucrative package featuring a €15 million net annual salary, topped off with €4 million in performance related add ons.

The proposed deal was structured as a 1 year contract with an option for an additional season.

The jersey sales breakdown

Despite the massive wage package, talks hit a major roadblock over commercial revenue. A Spor reported that Salah's representative demanded a direct percentage cut from official shirt sales. With the kit manufacturer taking a 40% cut and Besiktas keeping the remaining 60%, the agent's requested percentage would significantly erode the club's financial benefit.

Refusing to concede further ground, the Turkish side presented a final take it or leave it offer during Monday's decisive meeting warning that no further financial concessions would be made.
