Turkey: Show opens his Süper Lig account with Kocaelispor
After failing to score in the first six Süper Lig matches, Show scored his first league goal of the season against Beşiktaş on Sunday, October 11, 2026. Despite Kocaelispor's 2-1 defeat, the Angolan midfielder now has one goal and one assist after seven matchdays.
Show found the back of the net in the 27th minute against Beşiktaş. With his team trailing from the 18th minute after Orkun Kökçü opened the scoring, the Angolan international temporarily brought Kocaelispor level. That parity lasted just four minutes, however. Beşiktaş regained the lead from the penalty spot in the 31st minute and held on to their advantage until the final whistle.
This first goal adds to a start to the season marked by the midfielder's consistency in the middle of the park. Before this match, Show had played all 540 minutes of the first six matchdays and provided one assist without managing to score. After seven matchdays, his attacking record therefore stands at one goal and one assist.
A first goal after a season without scoring
This opening of his account comes after a 2025-2026 campaign without a league goal for Kocaelispor. According to the competition's statistics, Show made 30 Süper Lig appearances last season. His contribution then relied more on his work in midfield than on his attacking numbers.
At 27, the Angolan remains an important part of Kocaelispor's setup, as shown by his starts and playing time since the beginning of the season. His goal against Beşiktaş adds an attacking dimension to that record, although a single goal is not yet enough to conclude that he has made sustained progress in this area.
Göztepe on the schedule for the next matchday
Kocaelispor will now have to turn its attention to the eighth matchday of the league season, when the club is due to host Göztepe. The match will give Show another opportunity to build on his momentum and improve his attacking statistics.
For the Angolan midfielder, the objective will be to maintain his influence on the game while becoming more decisive. His regular playing time is already an established asset; the coming matchdays will show whether he can add more frequent attacking contributions to it.
