U-17 Women's World Cup qualifiers: 12 teams have secured spots in the second round
The picture for the second round of qualifiers for the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Morocco 2026 is gradually coming into focus as several teams have punched their tickets to the next stage following the second-leg matches.
On April 17, Benin clinched qualification with a stunning 4-0 win over Burkina Faso (after losing 1-3 in the first leg). Sierra Leone pulled off a major upset by eliminating Côte d'Ivoire (0-0 and 2-1).
April 18 was packed with action, as Ghana and Cameroon delivered dominant performances against Togo and Algeria respectively. Senegal also overcame Tunisia (1-1 in the first leg, 2-1 in the second leg).
It's worth noting that Liberia, South Africa, and DR Congo advanced directly to the next round following the withdrawal of Libya, Djibouti, and the Central African Republic.
The teams qualified so far:
Benin, Sierra Leone, Uganda, Burundi, Ghana, Senegal, Guinea, Cameroon, Kenya, Liberia, South Africa, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
