UEFA: Roma and Everton face major risks due to a single rule!
A regulatory headache could upend the upcoming European season. Owned by the same shareholder, AS Roma and Everton FC find themselves under threat from UEFA's strict multi-ownership rules. Should both clubs qualify for the same competition, a drastic decision would be required.

The regulations are crystal clear:
"No one may be simultaneously involved, directly or indirectly, in the management, administration and/or sporting performance of more than one club participating in the Champions League."
This provision could have immediate consequences if both teams maintain their European ambitions.
According to the established criteria, only one club would be allowed:
"If two or more clubs fail to meet the criteria intended to guarantee the integrity of the competition, only one of them may be admitted."
National league standings and the federation's position in the UEFA ranking would then become decisive, casting major uncertainty over the European future of one of the two clubs.
