The curtain came down on the final day of the UNIFFAC U-17 Championship qualifiers for the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations in this age category on February 27. In the penultimate match, Gabon clinched a commanding 3-0 win over the Central African Republic.

With this victory, the Panthers finally tasted success. After suffering heavy defeats to Cameroon (1-5) and DR Congo (1-3), the Gabon side delivered a convincing 3-0 triumph on February 27 against the Bass-Obangui Leopards.

The Central African Republic remains at the bottom of the 2026 standings, having suffered three consecutive defeats, adding to their previous losses: 0-2 to Cameroon and 1-2 to DR Congo.
