Yoane Wissa: His Newcastle deal was 30 seconds from collapsing
Yoane Wissa

As we reported, Yoane Wissa is now a Newcastle player. But he came within 30 seconds of being the unluckiest man of the summer.

Following the sale of Alexander Isak to Liverpool for €150 million, Newcastle quickly bounced back, investing €63.5 million to secure Yoane Wissa. The Congolese international was signed from Brentford.

This Tuesday, Sky Sports dropped a bombshell. The deal came perilously close to falling through. After lengthy negotiations between the two Premier League clubs, an agreement was finally struck at the last minute, with the transfer officially approved just 30 seconds before the window slammed shut! Determined to join Newcastle, Wissa was on the brink of a major disappointment.
